Proper glove care

Goalkeeper gloves are expensive. You best protect them to save money and prolong their lifespan. Protect the environment by makeing your gloves more durable. You can even prolong their grip!

  • Step 1 - Remove protective foil

To get the best out of your goalkeeper gloves, make sure to clean them before first use. Soap residue, that is a byproduct of production, may cover the surface of the gloves. For this reason the palm has to be cleaned with lukewarm water especially before the first use. This ensures that the gloves can perform at their peak.

If you gloves come with protective foil, rub the protective film of your new goalkeeper glove a few times to create let air between the foil and the palm. After you have poured in the lukewarm water, you can remove the foil from the glove more easily!

  • Step 2 - thorough cleaning

Latex is an extremely fragile material. In order to achieve your optimal grip properties, use the Glove Cleaner before you use it for the first time and spray your goalkeeper glove 4-5 times with it. Rub the glove cleaner over the entire adhesive foam and then rinse the glove with lukewarm water. After squeezing, the gloves are ready for the next step.

  • Step 3 - drying

In addition to proper drying, proper storage also plays an important role. It is best to hang the gloves over the fingers to prevent dirt and moisture from accumulating in the fingers. The best way to do this is with a clothes hanger with clips: put a piece of paper or fabric between the clothes hanger and the gloves so that the palms are not damaged. Introducing the new GloveDry Buddy, your new glove drying best friend. Your goalkeeper gloves are dry in about 12 hours and ready for the next training session or match.

  • Step 4 - remove dirt

Every goalkeeper knows that dirt can stick to the palm after a hard training session. If warm water and glove cleaners don't remove stubborn dirt particles, we recommend a microfiber cloth. This specially designed towel removes dirt and protects the palm from further damage. Attention: do not wash the goalkeeper gloves in the washing machine! Spinning can significantly reduce the life of the gloves.

  • There is a way to fight it

    Step 5 - wet weather

Every goalkeeper's nightmare: a slippery ball in wet weather. We have a perfect solution for that. Use KEEPERsport Aqua Glue in the rain to achieve perfect adhesion even when the weather is wet. Water-repellent Aqua Glue improves adhesion in rain, snow or morning dew, and doesn't even need drying time - just apply and play.

Important: to avoid Aqua Glue sticking in the foam of the palm, clean the gloves with the glove cleaner after use.

  • Step 6 - abrasion of the palm foam

Small signs of wear do not mean the end of your gloves. With the right tools and care, the gloves will continue to serve as perfect training gloves. Use a special Glove Glu product to ensure strong adhesion to worn gloves. You can choose between MegaGrip glove spray and a special grip enhancer, there's something for everyone.

Important: as with Aque Glue, cleaning with glove cleaner is recommended after use.

  • Step 7 - keeping your gloves safe

In addition to proper drying, proper storage also plays an important role. It is best to hang the gloves over the fingers to prevent dirt and moisture from accumulating in the fingers. The best way to do this is with a clothes hanger with clips: put a piece of paper or fabric between the clothes hanger and the gloves so that the palms are not injured. Introducing the new GloveDry Buddy, your new glove drying best friend. Your goalkeeper gloves are dry in about 12 hours and ready for the next training session or match.

  • Step 8 - regular disinfection
